Whether you’re a Fresher, final-year student, or recent graduate, we are here to support you throughout your career journey.
You don’t need to know what you want to do before visiting us. We have lots of advice and resources to help you shape and implement your future career plans.
Here are our top five tips to help you get started:
Tip 1: Make the most of our events
We organise a varied programme of events, including:
- skills workshops
- networking events
- employer and alumni presentations
- careers fairs.

Careers Centre Open Day – Wednesday 6 September – 11am to 3pm
On the day you’ll have the opportunity to:
- meet the team
- find out how to apply for part-time jobs and internships
- see demonstrations of career resources and CareerConnect

Internship Celebration Day – Friday 8 September – drop in sessions: 10am – 12pm & 2.30pm – 4pm
The Internship Celebration Day will be your chance to connect with Career Centre staff and ask questions surrounding the 2023/24 St Andrews Internship programmes.
We have asked students that have completed an internship programme this year to design a poster demonstrating their project objectives, experience gained and general reflections on the programmes, we will be displaying these poster in the Careers Centre and you are more than welcome to read and view the posters on display.

China Golden Graduate Recruitment Week (Online)
This is a collaboration between five leading UK universities. These events connect Mandarin-speaking students to employment opportunities in China. Book now via CareerConnect.

- Finance & Consulting Day – Wednesday 6 September – 8.30am to 12pm
- Smart Manufacturing and Wider Industries Day – Thursday 7 September – 8.30am to 12pm
Career Journey Workshops
These sessions focus on several key topics, including:
- developing your interview skills
- making applications
- applying for postgraduate study
- job hunting and career planning.

Careers Fairs 2023
Don’t miss the opportunity to meet employers in person at our Careers Fairs in September.
- Science & Technology Fair – Wednesday 27 September – 11am to 3pm
- Careers Fair (all other sectors) – Friday 29 September – 11am to 3pm
Both fairs will take place in the St Andrews Town Hall, Queen’s Gardens, St Andrews.

Tip 4: Sign up for a Saints Skills Award
New for session 2023/2024, the Saints Skills Awards can help you get and talk about the skills employers want.
There are two awards:
- Saints Skills Builder Award, for developing new skills
- Saints Skills Spotlight Award, for talking about your existing skills
Both awards are open to all students, in any year of study.
