Customise your CV for specific job descriptions
- Job description upload: Discover how to modify your CV for a specific role based on relevant keywords and skills.
- Targeted CVs: Craft a CV that addresses the employer’s needs, aligns with the role’s objectives, and closely matches the job description.
- Stand out: Ensure your CV stands out from the crowd, especially since Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) filter and rank candidates based on relevance to the job description.
CareerSet provides a single score for your CV, offering a quick insight into its quality and progress over time. However, it’s crucial to delve into the detailed feedback to identify areas for improvement.
We recommend uploading your CV at least once, aiming for a score of 70%. If your score is lower, don’t worry—follow CareerSet’s improvement tips and re-submit.
Every line of your CV undergoes analysis for its effectiveness, consistency, and style. This includes assessing your use of action words, bullet point lengths, and whether your CV follows a reverse chronological order. By applying CareerSet’s advice, you’ll not only enhance your score but also deepen your understanding of what constitutes a strong CV.
Review your cover letters
Many job applications require a cover letter alongside your CV. CareerSet can assist you in refining this essential document.
To improve your cover letter:
- Select ‘review my cover letter’ from the main menu.
- Paste the relevant job description into the designated box, focusing solely on required qualifications, skills, and desired experience. Exclude salary details and company specifics.
- Upload your cover letter.
CareerSet will score your cover letter out of 100 based on its relevance to the job description and standard cover letter criteria, including proper salutations, appropriate length, and effective use of buzzwords. Carefully review the feedback to enhance your cover letter, particularly for the specific position you’re applying for.
